David Hawkins, the founder, started his actuarial career in 1977 working at a Dallas, Texas insurance company and soon moved into the consulting field. He was owner of Hawkins and Associates, an actuarial consulting firm focused on insurance companies and employee benefits, from 1986 to 2001 when he partnered with Leggette Actuaries, Inc. Through a series of mergers and acquistions, Leggette eventually became a part of the Ascensus, LLC family of companies.
Each new step along the way brought new friends, new clients and a broadened base of expertise and experience.
David left Ascensus in 2024 to form Encore Actuarial in order to continue applying his decades of knowledge and experience in a personal, one-on-one manner with his clients.
